I learned some hard truths about achieving goals while publishing my 3rd children’s book.
1. It takes longer than you think.
2. It goes slow before it goes fast.
3. Your original idea may not win in the end.
4. You have to have decisive decision-making.
5. Find people more talented to help you get there.
6. Use constraints to cut burnout and boredom.
7. Stepping away from time to time is a good thing.
8. Don’t “learn” then “do” – learn through doing.
I wrote the rough draft of this book in one sleepless night. But, it took over a year to design the illustrations and layout. It began with my brother’s first sketch. Then, I tried AI. Finally, I used my illustrator to create the finished vision.
It’s an exciting and frustrating process, but I wouldn’t have it any other way because it was all worth it.
Don’t give up.
Enjoy the process of doing.
The journey is the destination.
You will achieve the goal if you continue to move forward.
