My son was complaining yesterday that he wasn’t good at band anymore.
I had to throw the challenge flag.
We went to the video replay.
I explained to him that learning is a continuous process and becomes complicated when you aren’t aware of how far you’ve come.
So, I pulled out a video of when he first started the band one year ago. I let him hear how far he’d come. You can hear it in the video (Band Practice). He wasn’t good.
But that’s to be expected. This video is 1 month after starting.
He laughed and couldn’t believe how bad he was back then. He got the point.
We’re all progressing at our own pace and dealing with our hurdles at various times.
When you document your journey you have undeniable proof of how far you’ve come.
As Jesse Itzler says, “I didn’t come this far to only come this far”.
Keep moving forward. Keep believing you’re improving.
The proof is in the work.
