When we are devouring some dessert in the aftermath of the Thanksgiving feast this year let that give us some perspective and a metaphor we can use for our lives.
The dessert didn’t make itself.
There were ingredients that were necessary to make that specific recipe and they didn’t peel, mix, whisk, or bake themselves.
They needed the human touch. They needed our interpretation of a recipe and the work that goes in to see it through to completion.
Life is like that.
There are many opportunities that come into our life but nothing happens until we put our special touch on it. We have to be the ones to advance the cause because otherwise, that opportunity spoils.
Certainly, we can’t see the alternative path had we taken it, but if it’s one we believe in deep down in our core then maybe it’s one we should consider advancing and seeing how it goes.
Maybe we should start looking for those opportunities and acting on them today. Because with our unique perspective and view of the situation, we have the chance to turn it into a masterpiece.
