We all write shitty first drafts.
I have the picture to prove it.
I published my 2nd children’s book in February of 2022.
This picture isn’t close to the finished copy. It’s of the first scribbles of what came to be that book, one random night before bed in May of the prior year.
Why is this relevant?
Because any creative work starts out looking like garbage. It shouldn’t be close to finished.
That’s how it’s supposed to be.
Don’t refrain from starting because you don’t think it’ll be good.
Know it won’t be good and then take action to consistently make it better.
It’s the only way.
It’s always been the only way.
What project have you shelved because you’ve felt intimidated?
I’d encourage you to pick it back up and try one more time.
You owe it to yourself to see where you can take it.
PS – My 3rd Children’s Book, “My Best Friend Fred” is launching on October 23rd, 2024! If you’d like to pre-order you can go here and/or if you’d like to be a part of the Launch Team to help me get this book out to the world please reply to this blog and let me know.
