Too often, we let the fear we learned in our adolescence trigger decisions in the present.

  • How we think about money.
  • How we think about relationships.
  • How we think about our ability to perform.

The shadow of our past looms large and can engulf us if we aren’t careful.

So when I was younger:

  • I got in a lot of debt
  • I picked the wrong women
  • I didn’t believe I was good enough

It wasn’t until I faced the shadow that it no longer had control over me.

It’s still there. It’s lurking. It’s waiting for its chance to loom over me again.

But I’ve shone a spotlight on the problem areas and continually work to deal with them.

That’s the only way to keep the shadow at a distance.
