Last year I crested the 400-LB mark for the first time with a 405 LB Deadlift.

→ I followed that up a month later by hitting 425.

The weight isn’t as important as what led me to finally hit it.

→ Mindset.

I imagined the lift before doing it

I focused on hitting it and how it’d feel.

I did not allow negative thoughts to pour in.

I settled in, said a final word of encouragement, and hit it.

Building strength takes time and a lot of work, but even with this work, we need a positive mindset to help us achieve our maximum potential.

They work in tandem, not as lone competitors.
