Why are we obsessed with cheat codes, life hacks and short cuts?
It provides us with a short term dopamine hit. We feel like we are getting something now to address our craving.
But it’s not sustainable.
At some point, we have to think longer term. There has to be a plan behind the action.
When there’s not, we spin in circles.
I love cheat codes like everyone. You’re going to let me in on the secret? Great!
Have at it and enjoy it. But remember it’s not sustainable.
Find depth.
Find growth.
Find something that’s meaningful.
Go after that relentlessly.
It may seem like it’ll be better to skip a few levels but I promise the journey will be worth it.
Because the journey is the destination.
The time it takes is exactly how long you need.
