Today, I’m celebrating 7 years of the Just Get Started podcast!
Here are 7 truths I’ve uncovered from the journey…
1. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆
You don’t have to chase every opportunity for financial gain. Sometimes, the best things we do are for joy, learning, or connection. When you take money out of the equation, you might discover what truly matters to you.
2. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗲”
Thinking about committing to something for seven years can feel overwhelming. But here’s the trick: don’t focus on the years, focus on the next step. Do the next episode. Show up the next time. Then, repeat.
3. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲
Every person you want to connect with is “getable,” but you must be willing to ask. You have to risk rejection. And, most importantly, you must stay consistent long enough for the opportunities to align.
4. 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁
Fear isn’t real. It’s a story we tell ourselves. Once you learn to challenge, question, and work through it, you’ll discover how much more you’re capable of.
5. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁
People say starting is the hardest part, but it’s not.
Consistency is hard. Discipline is hard. Perseverance is hard.
The real question is this: is it worth it to endure the hard times?
6. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁
Just because something isn’t out there doesn’t mean it can’t be. You can form ideas into existence and build something out of nothing. Start small and let it grow.
7. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲
Relationships are everything. Step outside your bubble, meet new people, and expand your worldview. The experiences you create with others will shape you in ways you can’t predict.
These lessons didn’t come all at once. They came through showing up, staying curious, and embracing the process, even when it was hard.
Which “truth” resonated the most with you?
Thank you to every guest, every listener, and every supporter who has been part of this journey. Here’s to the next step, the next connection, and the next lesson waiting to be uncovered.
