Episode 108 features a young, sharp entrepreneur named Matty Shaefer who is the Co-Founder of Vade, a company making parking more convenient by making real-time parking availability data accessible to every city and driver.
Find Matty Online:
Matty is a 22-year-old entrepreneur that recently graduated from UNC as a Robertson Scholar and Adams Apprentice with a degree in Business Administration.
His first success was building a YouTube channel where he reviewed tech products like phones, laptops, and mechanical keyboards. Over 5 years, he grew the channel to over 500K subscribers, 70M video views, and six figures of revenue through partnerships with tech giants like Disney, Amazon, and LG. In 2018, Matty stopped creating videos to focus on ventures outside of the world of social media.
Since then, Matty co-founded Vade to make parking more convenient by making real-time parking availability data accessible to every city and driver. Vade developed patent-pending IoT camera sensors that are solar-powered, connect via LTE, and can be installed on any pole in a matter of minutes. Staying true to the mission, Vade provides these cameras to cities at no cost, and instead they monetize the data through integrations with parking vendors and wayfinding apps.
